Big "Square" Dance in Ft. Good Hope

Banner in Tribute to Ashley and Lindsay Andrew
and to Kole Crook

Ashley, Lindsay and Kole were on the same plane, travelling from Ft. Good Hope to Tulita.  The plane crashed on New Year's Eve, 2001 and, sadly, all on board died.  It was this tragic accident which motivated us to form the Kole Crook Fiddle Association.

Charlie Edgi, Jayda Jackson and Lewis Beck

Lewis met Jayda in Good Hope after one of the Kole Crook Fiddlers' concerts.  She told him that her uncle Charlie had given her his fiddle so Lewis gave her a couple of lessons.  She proved to be such a keen student that the Kole Crook Fiddle Association sent her to Strings Accross the Sky's fourth annual fiddle camp in Yellowknife the next month.

Since then, Jayda has been practicing dilligently at home and often calls Lewis up for instruction over the phone.   She is now busy teaching her cousin and friend there in Good Hope.  Leadership material for sure!

The KC Fiddlers performed in Good Hope as part of their big trip last summer but, unfortunately, there are no photos of this as someone (who shall go unnamed) was too shy to go close to the stage to take them!
Here are some other photos instead.
